Happy Veteran’s Day has never sat well with me. There is nothing happy about enlisting soldiers to go off to war. Respectful, thankful, indebted, venerational, these are adjectives more aptly suited for this day of somber gratitude, lest we forget the sacrifices our warriors have made for this country. As we remember our veterans this week, please don’t forget those who fought in unpopular wars; they need this day the most. Thankful Veteran’s Day to you.
