I just got back from the Western Writers of America Convention in St. Louis, where I received the Spur Award for Best Western Historical Novel for my book Arkansas Black. I had a great time meeting other Western authors, musicians, and poets. St. Louis is a fabulous city to visit with beautiful architecture, parks, museums, and historic sites. The coolest part of the weekend was receiving the Spur Award plaque with an actual spur. This will look grand on my office wall. I’ll write more about the Western Writers of America Convention in my upcoming newsletter.

WOW! What a cool plaque, so well deserved. St. Louis *is* a neat city–ad I need a return visit. . . AND I am thrilled that you got to go and enjoy as literary royalty!. Write on . . .
Nice award! You deserve it!
